Arizona editor and free-lance writer Oren Arnold was born in Texas in 1900 and attended primary and secondary schools in Henderson, Texas. Following studies at Rice Institute in Houston and the University of Texas, he secured positions as editor of three local newspapers. After his 1927 marriage to Adele Roensch, he accepted a position as Sunday editor of the Arizona Republican and settled in Phoenix, Arizona.
